T. Boone Pickens 'Mesa Vista' Ranch One of the Most Expensive Properties for Sale in the World

Luxury Real Estate: Noteworthy Listings

The recent passing of oil tycoon, T. Boone Pickens, has us revisiting his sprawling 65,000 acre 'Mesa Vista' ranch. This truly one-of-a-kind property, located in the Texas panhandle, has nearly 12 miles of water and over 20 man-made lakes. Pickens listed the property for sale back in 2017 for $250 million and to say it's majestic would be an understatement.

Pickens purchased the first 2,900 acres about 46 years ago and acquired additional land over time. "The Lodge" is the largest structure on the ranch and boasts 33,000 square feet. Additionally, the property comprises over 100 square miles of prime Eastern Texas Panhandle ranch land and represents almost 50 years of Boone Pickens' assemblage, improvement and devotion.

Respectably, the listing is held jointly by Hall and Hall and Chas. S. Middleton and Son.

It's no secret that Pickens believed the 'Mesa Vista' Ranch offers some of the world's best quail hunting.

"Approximately six miles to the southwest, Boone’s Lake House contains over 11,500 square feet of living space with balconies and porch areas overlooking astonishing water features and manicured landscaping. The sale of the Mesa Vista Ranch is basically “turnkey,” including all rolling stock, equipment, pickup trucks, hunting vehicles, farming equipment, furnishings, bird dogs, etc. The only exclusions are Boone’s personal effects, livestock, and his vast art collection. The livestock is available to be purchased separately, as is most of the art collection.
